Collection | Paris Series

Created during a summer 2025 residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Works from the series were presented on June 29, 2025, in a one-night showing – Monet and Moral Injury – in the Marais.

“There are two kinds of cataracts – those that cloud the eye, and those that cloud the heart. Both make us see the world through yellow filters, dimming the blues, flattening the light. But the artist’s sacred duty is to be the keeper of the full spectrum, to bear witness not just to suffering, but to the light that suffering cannot extinguish. This is not denial of darkness – it is proof that darkness is not absolute.”

– From an imagined conversation between Jack Saul and Claude Monet
